          Children Services

The Residential Department works with children between the ages of 6 and 18 who are placed in group homes or residential settings who are in need of a higher level of care than their own home or foster care can provide.

The agency operates three group homes; two are owned by Steel Valley Homes for Youth and one is owned by the Swanston Foundation.  With the assistance of the Swanston Foundation and a generous donation by the Young Financial Group this year, the property at the Swanston Children's Home was expanded and enhanced to include a playground and small picnic pavilion.

Children with emotional and behavioral problems which require a more intense level of supervison and treatment are referred for residential placement.  These cases are managed by the caseworkers housed with in the Department.
