DAMIEN - Birthdate: June 1995
Damien is a cute 12 year old
boy with brown hair and bright eyes. He wears glasses. Damien is of average height and
weight. He is in the 6th grade. He is very bright and capable. Sometimes he
does very well in school and sometimes he becomes disorganized and has trouble completing
his work.
Damien has many great
qualities. When he was in his former foster home, he liked to do chores for his foster
parents, especially if it was his idea. He can be a very good worker. He loves to swim,
ride his bike, play with the cats and dogs, and jump on the trampoline. When he is inside,
he likes to play video games, watch television, draw, read, and play with his toys. Damien
has difficulty accepting that he is a mix of positive and negative characteristics. He
sees himself as either all good or all bad. If he is doing well in his life, he tries to
hide any mistakes he is making so he doesnt ruin it. If he is caught doing something
wrong, he gets caught up in feeling that he is all bad.
Damien has multiple mental
health diagnoses for which he receives medication and therapeutic interventions. He has
been hospitalized due to past aggressive behaviors.
Damien has a good understanding
of why he couldnt grow up with his birth parents. His life has been well documented
in his life book. Damien experienced an adoption disruption in November of 2004. It has
been difficult for him to deal with the disruption of his adoption, particularly since his
brother remains in that home. He has not seen his brother since he left the home.
Damien needs a family that
understands the behavior of children with attachment difficulties and is willing to follow
through with treatment after placement. He is definitely worth it! What a neat kid!!
