ALYSSA - Birthdate: January 1992
Alyssa is a typical 16 year old
girl. She is currently in 10th grade and doing very well academically. Alyssa
loves to cook and plans to go to culinary school after graduating from high school. She
was recently baptized and her spirituality is very important to her.
Alyssa usually deals with
conflict by being confrontational. She is easily deescalated and thrives in a structured,
loving environment. She has no academic, cognitive or developmental delays. Alyssa does
have some emotional issues related to her history of abuse and is in counseling and takes
medication to help her cope with her issues.
Alyssa enjoys social activities
and is very active in school. She is the third of five siblings with whom she maintains
contact and is very close. It is very important to Alyssa to continue to have contact with
her siblings.
Alyssa has a significant bond
with her current foster family and needs to continue this relationship. She expresses fear
of being adopted due to her past experiences of disruption and would need a family that is
willing to commit regardless of her occasional defiant behavior.
